It was never intended to record the events of my life, which I considered to have been nothing out of the ordinary. However, orphaned at ten, a critical age, I now realize the events that followed, and my reaction to them, have been somewhat different to those of people around me, and especially of my grandchildren. If, by passing them on, they can benefit, I'm happy. Any little bits of wisdom that may help in this different and difficult time for young people. However the basics are the same - live honestly, work hard to the best of one's ability, and happiness and confidence will follow.
