This is the story of a young boy travelling the Silk Road to the Far East with his father on a business trip. When it becomes unsafe for him to travel further with his father, he is left under the care of an aged sultan.
After a year, news arrives that his father's caravan was attacked and there were no survivors. He grows up as a warrior, studying under the sultan's army leaders and learning the art of war. He thrives on the stories of the Greek heroes of old. As a young soldier, he is given responsibility to secure the sultan's trade routes, hoping to regain the throne for his sultan.
