Phonics for Kevin 1

$12.00

Learning all the letters of the alphabet and the sounds that they make, is hard work for some children.  Printed letters are arbitrarily assigned a sound and many children have difficulty remembering the sound-letter association because it is so arbitrary. This book, and the books that follow in this series, helps to make a visual connection between the printed letters and the sound of that letter. This helps the children learn these associations more quickly, with less time spent on this aspect of reading so that more teaching time may be doted to other areas of literacy development.

In addition to the visual connection, the program uses aspects of articulation of the sounds, story, peer teaching and movement to create a number of different channels to help students learn.

This book, and the others in the series, is useful for children aged 3-7 years.

Teachers and parents will find that this program is easy to use, does not require very much preparation time and helps children learn the sound-letter associations quickly and easily.

Phonics for Kevin 1 introduces the letters u, p, m, e, i and n. The older sister, Jackie, teaches her younger brother, Kevin, tricks to help him learn the sounds that these letters make.
