The sleepy village of Charles Lake in rural Ontario is rocked by the turbulence caused by money - lots of money, theft, disappearance, fraud and possibly murder by the hand of a fugitive. It’s shortly after World War II when the folks of the lake were finally settling into a less disturbing time. Local villager, widow, Vera Hay finds herself in a quest that takes her to a small village in Scotland and then to the edge of desperation as she searches for more in her life. She goes to incredible lengths… but will she survive the unexpected?
