Born at only 4 pounds and against all odds, Clifford Etcher came into this world in the Haldimand Township area of Ontario near Grafton and Wicklow. He grew up in Cobourg and Port Hope, where he eventually settled with his beautiful bride, Hazel to raise their two daughters, Marilyn and Margaret.
Clifford was the oldest of two other siblings. Despite several health problems, Clifford persevered, working on the family farm until he found his first job at a local factory known as The Sanitary, making bathtubs. This was followed by an interesting position at Town Hall, where stories of interesting encounters have you laughing aloud as you read.
Central to Clifford's stories are his deep faith in God, who carries him through his good and bad times. While Clifford came across as more serious and lived a frugal life always getting the best deals for his dollar, his dry sense of humour and deep integrity endeared him to many.
As you curl up with this book, may you enjoy reading about a man whose heart honoured hard work, loved his wife and daughters deeply and who know the Lord intimately. Clifford Etcher will leave a lasting impression on your mind and in your heart.
