Defiantly waging her personal war against Nazi oppressors, a young mother marches into the "Lion's Den." Assuming an Aryan identity she gets a job in a German military hospital and later in the local shutzpolizei (police headquarters).
She also describes her heartbreaking encounters with Polish partisans and with Russian troops, as well as witnessing an act of revenge by Jewish partisans against their tormentors.
