Walter Cooke is a long-time Toronto resident and retired business executive with a penchant for Canadian history. His latest work, of winners, is the tale of his city from wilderness to thriving metropolis.
Cooke doesn't profess to be an historian, nor even a writer of history. What he attempts to do is present the past in an easily readable style, hoping to stir memories, and even perhaps inspire readers to seek further knowledge from libraries and bookstores, or the internet.
