Six Graves in the Village: A True Story of WWII Canadian Service and Remembrance

Six of the seven men died that summer night in 1943. The only survivor would spend two years in a POW camp and die years later remembering the horror of the fate of his crewmates and comrades. Sacrifice was the watchword for all seven. They would be remembered by their families and Ten Boer, the Dutch village that still holds their graves and the memory.

For the first time, their names and stories would be researched and assembled thanks to retired banker and historian, Frank Moore. Through his purchase of a suitcase filled with mostly WWII documents, he would piece together the story of a Canadian aircrew who flew night missions in a Halifax Pathfinder over the Netherlands, France, and Germany. It did not take long to realize that the deaths of the aircrew were just the beginning of the story.
