An exciting time travel story that takes Luke and his twin sister Laura on a journey back through time to 1837. The story unfolds, as the twins find themselves in the middle of the Rebellions of Lower and Upper Canada. Beginning in Lower Canada, the twins witness the battles of St. Denis and St. Eustache. They befriend a Patriote family who explain their frustration with British tyranny. The twins learn about the tension between the French and English and witness their political and cultural struggle. Laura and Luke continue on to Upper Canada, where they meet a wealthy member of the Family Compact who has strong views against the rebellion. The twins end their journey after McKenzie's unsuccessful effort at Montgomery's Tavern. The rebellions seem fruitless..... or were they?
