Unwinding the Wound is a collection of poems mixed in with a series of black and white photos. The poems vary from being formal sonnets to short, open-ended free verse. Since the poems might make the reader think for a bit, the photos can act as a reflective or contemplative break from the words. The photos don't match or pair with the photos – they are a counterpoint to the poems. So both poems and photos are given equal billing and hopefully they each have the space to be seen or read fully.
